"Juicy" on Asthmatic Kitty

I have a thing for liquids...especially for ones that look gross or slimey. I was very excited to photograph this weeks theme because I knew that i would get the chance to use some gross looking liquids. I really have no reasoning behind this other than i like for things to be creepy and gross, but cool looking.

"Magnetic" on Asthmatic Kitty

Week 16 has arrived!! I can't believe that it has been sixteen weeks of this project on Asthmatic Kitty. It is pretty rad! I am proud of myself and rafter for having made this project and stuck through it.

So, this weeks theme was Magnetic. I choose to make this photo of these fish that I had used for a previous photo shoot. They are toy fish that have little magnets on the mouth area so that they get attached to the fishing rod. So, I did use them because of the magnets, but it is not completely the only reason. I also had the idea that fish are so drawn to the fishing rods and bait...it is kinda magnetic. I wanted to make something that was just kinda pretty to look at...just wall art to have in your bathroom and look at while you are shaving.

"Dust"on Asthmatic Kitty!

Last friday "Dust" went up on Asthmatic Kitty. This photo was inspired by my good friend, PJ Carlson. He came to visit me and I asked him if he could do me the honor of giving me the word for the day. He suggested dust and I immediately had so many ideas for it. None of the ideas I came up with were the ones I decided to use. Instead I made my photo based on the immediate associations PJ had with the word. He told me that when he heard the word it immediately reminded him of the book 1984 in which it describes a woman whose face had dust in all of its crevices. So, I made this for you, my friend (whom I hope to know for the rest of my life), PJ Carlson.:)

"Train" on Asthmatic Kitty Records

This weeks theme hit me by surprise. Rafter told me that we were going to be working on a different word and just as I was about to do it, it was changed. Ah well. So, I had very little time to come up with a concept and although I feel like I did ok with such a difficult word, I wish I would have been able to brainstorm a little more.

The only associations that I had when I heard the word train were: tracks, sounds, tunnels and bright lights. So, I tried to make an abstract photo of what it feels like when the train is going through a tunnel. The result was ok, but I feel I could have done better.
