"Salt" on Brooklyn Vegan.com!

Yet another exclusive photo/song from me and Rafter for the project we have been working on has come out on Brooklyn Vegan. This is the first time that I heard Rafter's song as inspiration for one of my photos. It was actually really neat. I usually conjure up my own inspiration, but this time I really tried to base my photo on the essence that I got from listening to Rafter's song...which I heard like 50 times...eek! Did I mention that I really really like this song? Well, I do and if you wanna go see my photo and hear the song go check it out at the Brooklyn Vegan.com site!

"Manteca" on Paper Thin Walls!

So, the project I have been working on with Rafter has an exclusive song and photo on Paper Thin Walls! Pretty exciting! Manteca is one of my favorite photos that I have done so far for this series. It came to me in a vision of skewers and melting lard. Go check it out on the site and also take a listen to Rafter's totally awesome song.

"Nausea" Week 13 on Asthmatic Kitty

I have been slacking so bad on this project...eek! I feel so behind and like I am trying to catch up every time our deadline comes around. Maybe my new years resolution should be to stop procrastinating. Anyway, I wanted to come up with a photo that did not have the usual elements one would think of when thinking of the word, Nausea. After brainstorming, (and procrastinating), I came up with an idea and then walked around my house and found all of these objects. The little plastic men in the photo are parachute dudes. I think it is a little difficult to tell what they are in the photo, but I put them in cause I thought if I were a parachute dude I would probably have a lot of nausea. Although, I would not exactly know since I have never parachuted...maybe going parachuting should be my new years goal. I dunno.

"Fish out of Water" on Asthmatic Kitty Records

Happy Holidays to everyone!! I forgot to put up last weeks photo cause of all the festivities, but never fear it is here! This photo is Fish out of Water. Rafter picked this theme. I had just started this project with Rafter, when I shot this photo, and was trying out different ideas. I think that I have kinda a "look" I am going for now, but I still like this shot. I saw this view while I was relaxing on my couch trying to come up with a photo for this theme. I like when inspiration for a photo comes to me suddenly.

Week 11 "Thunder" on Asthmatic Kitty

I shot two photos for this weeks theme. The first was going to be an homage to my sweet dog Thunder who ran away from home and then several months later I saw with a gang of dogs taking over a hill. He was an awesome dog and I will always remember him. I wanted to create something that would be perfect for him and all the memories I have, but I wanted it to be so perfect that I could not get myself to feel that the photo was good enough. I had to do another photo shoot because I could not figure how to make my photograph be the photo that my dog Thunder would have deserved. I instead decided to make something completely off and as far from all the memories I have of him. Simply because creating something that reminded me of him made me too sad. So, this photo is a silly photo made just to make me smile and to make Rafter laugh.

Week 10 "Shapely" on Asthmatic Kitty

I got to choose the theme this week and I decided on Shapely. When I told Rafter the word for the week I knew that he was going to immediately associate the word with the shape of a body, but I secretly knew that I meant for it to be geometric shapes. I am really into having a lot of geometric designs in my photographs, so in this photo I decided it would be completely focused on geometric design. I really like how this turned out. I think it could be good wall paper.

"Drugs" on SPIN.com!

My photo for the theme, drugs, was posted today on Spin magazines online blog! Rafter's song (which is totally rad) is being promoted on the site and my photo is along for the ride. The photo I did for this was inspired by Halloween sales and the Still Flyin' video shoot. I was getting ready for the video shoot and was working on the photo for drugs at the same time. Go check it out at SPIN.com!

P.S. I also made the photograph of Rafter for his upcoming Sex, Death, Cassette record featured on SPIN.com!
